Law Student Internships:
Each summer, Acadiana Legal Service Corporation hosts several law interns from Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans. These positions are generously funded by the Gillis Long Poverty Law Center. During their time with us, interns rotate through all four of our substantive practice units, getting to experience a wide range of civil legal practice issues.

Non-Law Student Internships:
Acadiana Legal Service Corporation often hosts college students needing an internship or community service hours in a field related to some area of our practice. Your curriculum may be related to our legal work, or you might be a business major wanting to work with our Accounting or Administrative Services team. Either way, feel free to contact one of our six offices if you’d like to join the team for a semester or summer.
Unlike criminal defendants, persons facing civil legal problems have no right to appointed counsel. We help ordinary people, like a veteran denied rightfully earned benefits, an elderly person denied Medicaid benefits, a family fighting wrongful evictions or foreclosure, people trying to rebuild their lives in the wake of natural disasters, or a woman trapped in an abusive relationship.
